Liposuction – This involves selectively removing fat from tissue. Problem areas are focussed on to mould the body into an ideal, natural shape.
Our expert doctors for plastic and aesthetic surgery use vibration suction which gently shakes out the fat from the tissue which is then sucked out using very fine needles.

Typical areas of treatment are outer upper thighs (‘saddlebags’) and well as belly and waist (‘spare tyre’). Fat in the chin (“double chin”) or neck (“turkey neck”) and back, upper arms, knees, calves and ankles and male breast tissue can also be gently modelled (see also upper arm/thigh lift).
Liposuction is on an outpatient or inpatient basis, depending on the indication, and is carried out by our specialists in plastic and cosmetic surgery and can be performed under local anaesthesia, tumescent local anaesthesia or general anaesthesia, depending on the extent of fat to be removed. After liposuction, the patient gets a special compression garment which should be worn for 4 weeks to tighten the skin. You can easily return to normal life after one to three days. Up to two weeks after liposuction, a slight stinging, similar to a muscle ache, may occur. During this period, strenuous activity and lifting should be avoided. The final result of liposuction surgery is achieved after two to six months, once the swelling has subsided and the skin is perfectly streamlined.

Tummy tucks (abdominoplasty) involves removing fatty tissue and gently tightening the tummy muscles. A firmer abdominal wall, a flatter, tighter stomach and a smaller waist are the result.
A tummy tuck is required if there is a large overlap in the lower abdomen or an apron formation is present and the elasticity of the skin is reduced considerably. This can be the case after pregnancy or severe weight loss.

An upper eyelid lift is necessary if the skin and tissue lose elasticity and the eyelids begin to droop. Drooping eyelids are in part caused by sun, stress, alcohol and certain medications. It may also be down to genetic predisposition.
The upper eyelids can be lifted with a small operation. The cuts made for upper eyelid lifts are placed in the natural crease of the eyes so that the resulting scars remain invisible. Excess skin, fat and muscle are removed or, if necessary, the musculature is tightened depending on the findings.

Upper eyelid lifts or treating drooping eyelids can normally be carried out on an outpatient basis using local anaesthetic.

Eyelid swelling can last up to two weeks. Most patients are able to return to work after a week.

Upper eye lid lifting is a fairly non-invasive procedure which gives the face a fresher and younger appearance. The final results of upper eyelid lifting can be expected around three months after the operation.

The natural ageing process leads to sagging of the skin on the face and neck as well as wrinkles, which may alter one’s appearance. Cheeks hang, contours disappear and deep nasolabial wrinkles appear. If treatment with fillers or muscle relaxant is no longer sufficient, a face lift can provide permanent results.

A facelift involves tightening the skin on the face and neck, as well as musculature. The aim is to make the face appear naturally younger. A facelift can also be combined with other procedures such as eyelid lifts, injecting with one’s own fat, hyaluronic acid, and muscle relaxant.

The choice of operation procedure varies from patient to patient and depends on their anatomy and the extent of ageing traits. We always recommend the least invasive procedure for facelifts which result in inconspicuous scars.

Facelifts are carried out under general anaesthetic as an in-patient at our clinic. The first few days will see light swelling which will subside and after two to three weeks, with a normal healing process, you can go back to work.

There are more and more women opting for labia correction. This is mostly because the inner labia are too large, hang down and are not covered by the outer labia. This can lead to trouble such as in sport or inhibition in interpersonal situations. Labia correction involves making the labia smaller. This is done by first of all measuring the excess the skins accurately and then removing it.

The outer labia can also become limp-looking after the course of many years. In this case, the outer labia can be filled with the patient’s own fat and, if necessary, can be tightened by removing skin.
Since this is a very intimate region, we advise short anaesthesia for the operation which can then be carried out on an in-patient basis. After labia surgery, you should avoid strenuous activity, sport and sexual activity for ca. two weeks.

Gynecomastia involves increased breast tissue growth in men, leading to a feminine-appearing chest. It can be caused by hormonal imbalance during puberty, medications, or an age-related change in hormones in the body.

Serious background conditions must first be ruled out in each case. In minor cases glandular tissue can be extracted, and in more serious cases the gland must be removed through an incision at the edge of the nipple. Depending on the severity of the case, the procedure can be done under local anaesthetic as an out-patient, or as an in-patient under general anaesthetic. Afterwards in both cases, a compression garment must be worn for six weeks to optimise the results. Physical rest must be taken for ca. one week. The operation results are permanent
